Kouvola's home hill with a long terrain park line: City-edge resort in Kouvola known for its terrain park culture and freestyle events.
Mielakka is the city-edge resort of Kouvola, about 145 km east of Helsinki, best known for its terrain-park culture and freestyle events. Seven pistes share four lifts on a 75 m vertical, with lit slopes running from afternoon into late evening through the core Dec to Mar season. It is primarily a regional hill for Kouvola and the surrounding southeast, rather than a destination resort. The park scene is the reason most freestyle riders make the trip.
The seven runs are short with a modest 75 m vertical, oriented around the long park line and freestyle progression rather than steep descents. Beginners and intermediates will find the pistes comfortable, and freestylers get a developed park to session under lights. Strong all-mountain skiers will lap it quickly but enjoy the long evening lighting.
About a 90-minute to two-hour drive east of Helsinki via Highway 6 / E18 toward Kouvola.
There is no ski village, so most visitors base in the city of Kouvola a short drive away and come to the hill for sessions.
Gentle lower pistes and long evening lighting make after-school and weekend family laps easy.
