Sveitsi is the town-side ski centre in Hyvinkää, about 55 km north of Helsinki, and one of Finland's oldest operating ski resorts, dating to the 1930s. Seven gentle pistes share three lifts on a 60 m vertical, all lit for evening skiing through the Dec to Mar season. The layout is built for first-timers and school groups, with magic carpets and a short main lift keeping families moving without long queues. There is a small snowpark, but the hill's whole character is approachable and low-pressure.
The seven runs are short and gentle, ideal for first-timers, children and school groups learning the basics. Confident intermediates and advanced skiers will find little to hold them, as there is no real steep terrain. A small park adds some progression, but the appeal here is uncrowded learner slopes close to the capital.
About a 45-minute drive north of Helsinki up Highway 3 (E12) to Hyvinkää; the town is also on the main rail line from Helsinki.
The hill sits on the edge of Hyvinkää town, so accommodation, shops and restaurants are close by in the town itself rather than a ski village.
