Its 318 m vertical is among the highest in Finland, and its short Feb–May window is built around spring skiing under the returning Arctic sun. With minimal infrastructure, it's a resort aimed squarely at touring skiers.
Nine ungroomed slopes on natural snow and just two lifts make this a back-to-basics area best suited to confident skiers and tourers. The 318 m vertical is among the largest in the country, but the natural terrain and lack of grooming mean it is not recommended for small children. Late-season conditions and the spring sun define the experience.
Kittilä Airport is about 1 hour away, with the resort in the Muonio/Enontekiö area inside the national park. The park setting shapes the whole approach.
Lodging is limited and tied to the national-park setting, in keeping with the resort's minimal footprint. Many skiers base here specifically for the touring and natural-snow character.
Pallas is not recommended for small children, as the terrain is natural and ungroomed.
