It recently expanded to 23 slopes with new runs, LED lighting and added snowmaking, and it sits at the edge of Urho Kekkonen National Park. Twenty-three slopes off a gentle 170 m vertical, with six lifts, make this an approachable area that rewards beginners and intermediates. Ivalo Airport is about 30 minutes (around 30 km) away, with direct winter flights from Helsinki. That keeps even the far north surprisingly accessible.
