The marked summer trail from Tolva car park works as a touring route, roughly 4 km one way with about 200 m of gain. Open glades on the south and west sides give short descents. Vertical is modest but the snowpack is consistently deep, so wider touring skis pay off in the powder pockets among the trees.
The main season is February to March, when the rime ice is heaviest. Ahmatupa open wilderness hut sits below the summit as a shelter. Hazards are low compared with the high fells, but deep snow and short winter days still demand a navigation plan.
