Ruka opened the Saarua slopes on 2 October 2026 with two chairlifts and the gondola. Hours, lift ticket prices and what opens next at Ruka and Levi.
Two chairlifts and the scenic gondola are running. An adult day ticket costs €58 at the ticket office, and lift tickets bought online are 20% cheaper until 30 November.
Ruka in Kuusamo opened its 2026–2027 ski season on the Saarua slopes at 9:30 on Friday 2 October. According to Koillissanomat, skiers had three runs and three lifts on the opening day.
Levi in Kittilä opened its first slopes the same morning, also on stored snow. According to Yle, the last time the slopes opened this early was in 2020.

The Village-2-Valley scenic gondola runs every day and takes skiers, walkers and cyclists up the fell and over it.

An adult day ticket costs €58 at Ruka’s ticket offices. You also need a keycard, which costs €8.
Lift tickets bought from Ruka’s online shop are 20% cheaper from 2 October to 30 November 2026. The discount does not apply to season passes, pedestrian tickets or Ruka Coaster tickets.
An adult Ruka season pass costs €498 if you buy it by 30 November 2026. The normal price is €586.
At Levi, the Levi Glacier slope, the front slope park and the mogul course opened on Friday, together with the Glacier Express and North chairlifts. A cross-country track made of stored snow opened at Draivi, and according to Yle it is about 4 km long. Over the opening weekend of 2–4 October the slopes and lifts are open 9:30–19:00, and lift rides for the whole weekend cost €30 in total. Levi’s normal adult day ticket is €60 at the ticket office and €58.80 online.
Ruka’s free first-snow cross-country track opens on stored snow on 10 October 2026. This year it is in Saarua, on Ruka’s loop trail, instead of at the ski stadium.
More cross-country tracks open on natural snow in November and December, depending on the snow.
The Ruka Coaster mountain coaster runs 13:30–21:30 during the autumn school holidays, 10–24 October.
Night skiing on Fridays, 19:00–23:00, starts on 4 December and runs until 16 April.
